EMT Training Programs

The EMT Training Programs offered by Project Heartbeat include the 2.5-week, 5-week and 8-week EMT-B Training Programs, 3-Day EMT Refresher Course, and EMT Skills Verification. Available at our Oakland and Sacramento campuses, our EMT programs are built to help you where you need it the most, at your current level. Graduates of our EMT-B training programs have immediate job placement opportunities through Project Heartbeat partnerships, as well as potential tuition reimbursement.

Accelerated 2.5 Week EMT-B Training Program

Prepare to complete the National Registry EMT-Basic Exam as the final step to obtaining EMT-Basic licensure in the State of California.

Through a comprehensive course schedule, Project Heartbeat’s accelerated EMT Training Program gets you prepared for state and national licensure in less time. Mastery of course topics and psychomotor skills can be completed in 18 days at 10 hours per day. In total, two and a half consecutive weeks from 8am to 6pm will provide 180 hours of didactic and skills training. In addition, 24 hours of ambulance ride alongs will total 200+ hours of comprehensive training. Graduates have immediate job placement opportunities through Project Heartbeat partnerships, as well as potential tuition reimbursement.

5-Week EMT-B Training Program

Prepare to complete the National Registry EMT-Basic Exam as the final step to obtaining EMT-Basic licensure in the State of California

Get ready for an exciting career with our EMT-Basic Training Program! Much like our 2-week course, Project Heartbeat’s 5-week EMT-B program is designed to get you out into the field as quickly and safely as possible. Five weeks provides 160 hours of didactic lecture, realistic emergency simulation training, and interactive participation. 24 hours of ambulance ride alongs completes the comprehensive training, providing you with the knowledge necessary to pass the National Registry exam and gain your EMT-Basic license. Graduates have immediate job placement opportunities through Project Heartbeat partnerships, as well as potential tuition reimbursement.

8-Week EMT-B Training Program

Prepare to complete the National Registry EMT-Basic Exam as the final step to obtaining EMT-Basic licensure in the State of California.

Get ready for an exciting career with our EMT-Basic Training Program! Much like our 5-week course, Project Heartbeat’s 8-week EMT-B program is designed to get you out into the field as quickly and safely as possible. Eight weeks provide 160 hours of didactic lecture, realistic emergency simulation training, and interactive participation. 24 hours of ambulance ride alongs completes the comprehensive training, providing you with the knowledge necessary to pass the National Registry exam and gain your EMT-Basic license. Graduates have immediate job placement opportunities through Project Heartbeat partnerships, as well as potential tuition reimbursement.

EMT Skills Verification

Verification of skills competency, valid for 2 years.

Test your EMT skills with a qualified, licensed EMT instructor from Project Heartbeat. Skill verification is valid for two years from the day of verification, allowing you to qualify for recertification.

3-Day EMT Refresher Course

24 CE Credits and course completion certificate will be provided upon successful completion of all 24 hours of training.

Strengthen your skills and certification with the the 3-Day EMT Refresher course. This EMT re-certification course meets California requirements to re-certify your EMT license, with 3 eight hour days. This course provides 24 CE credits, a course completion certificate, and a two-year EMT renewal.
